Day 84 Baxter Rest Area – Eucla

Today we packed up the van and drove off to Eucla. It was a 4-hour drive but when we got halfway to Eucla, we changed time zone again. This time it was only 45 minutes, so I won’t wake up super late. The drive to Eucla was a super straight road and we barely turned at all by the time we got there. When we arrived, we drove off towards the old town. The new town is on the cliff where our caravan park is, but the old town was close to the shore and the sand came in and went over the town. We walked through the sand dunes and saw the old Postmasters house which was full of sand. We tried to walk over to the beach, but the sand went on for so long. I think it went for 2 kilometres, so we decided to go back to the car. We drove back to the cliff where our caravan park is and went over to the lookout where we could see the whole area. We came back to the van after that and stayed there until nighttime where we had dinner. Tomorrow we are crossing over into South Australia and by tomorrow morning, we will only have 3 days of the trip left.
