Day 1 – Eltham to Bordertown

Today was the first day on our 3-month trip around Australia. Today, we drove from Eltham to Bordertown, which is just over the South Australia Border. The drive was seven hours (including stops). At the start, we drove for about two hours and 40 minutes until we stopped for lunch at Ararat, which was just under halfway to the border. When we were driving, we stopped at a really cool painting on a silo which featured an invisible man playing tennis. It was really high quality, and you could even see the fluff on the ball. Next, we stopped at Pink Lake which was on the title page. Pink Lake is near the Little Desert, and it is made pink by the perfect amount of salt and algae levels in the water. The pinkness of the lake changes from time to time and when we saw it, it didn’t look very pink at all! But when we sent the drone up to get an aerial shot (The picture on the beginning) it looked much pinker. After we left the pink lake, we drove for about another 2 hours until we got to Bordertown, where we met up with Nana and Pa. After that, we went to walk around Bordertown and found there was really nothing to do there as it was pretty much empty. Tomorrow we are going to Hahndorf which is about a 2-and-a-half-hour drive which will be much quicker. Anyway, I’m excited for tomorrow!
