Day 12 Uluru – Kings Canyon

Today started pretty early as we had to hitch up to the van and drive to Kings Canyon. The drive took about 3 hours to get here, and once we unpacked, we drove to the Kings Creek Walk inside Kings Canyon. The walk follows a dried-up creek that goes through the middle of the canyon with a bunch of trees all through it. The walk goes for about an hour and it was cool to see all the birds and wildlife in the walk. At the end of the walk, there is a viewing platform that stands above the ground and lets you see all the animals in the middle of Kings Canyon. While we were there, we saw a mature King Brown Snake on the floor. It was really well camouflaged and I only saw it because I was watching a bird watching the snake. It was super long and it was really cool to see it. After we came back to the entrance of the walk, I decided to go up the stairs for the rim walk which goes about 120 meters up a mountain. It took me about 7 minutes to climb all the way up and it was super exhausting. At least I got some really good photos of Kings Canyon though! After we came back to the van, we had dinner and played another game of Rummikub and then went to bed.
