Day 13 Kings Canyon

We started off early to get to the Kings Canyon Rim Walk. The rim walk is a grade 4/difficult walk which takes about 4 hours to complete. It starts off by going up a really tall flight of stairs on a mountain that takes around 20-40 minutes to climb up. Then you get to the top of the mountain, and you can look out all the way across the canyon! Once you keep walking, you can see some Cycads which are quite a rare plant that looks like the top of a palm tree on the ground. After you go past there, you get to these wooden bridges and stairs that take you down into the centre of the canyon which is quite a lush place with heaps of trees and water hole in it. The garden in the centre is called the Garden of Eden. When we got down there, we sat at a water hole for a while and then climbed up the other mountain and kept going. The other mountain was very similar to the first mountain, except we saw a Ring-Tailed Dragon lizard, but unfortunately it ran away before I could take a photo of it. While we were walking, a Spinifex Pigeon came really close to me and I was able to get a really good photo of it! The rest of the walk was pretty much the same until it started sloping down into the carpark. When we got back, we went to a cafe for lunch, and I had a camel burger. The camel was alright, but it was quite tough, and I only rated it a 5/10. The kangaroo I had a few days ago tasted much better and I rated that an 8/10.  After that, we had dinner, and I went to bed. Tomorrow, we will be going to Alice Springs for 4 days which will be pretty exciting!
