Day 16 Alice Springs

The day started with us driving to look at all the canyons and gorges around Alice Springs. The first gorge we went to was called Simpsons Gap. The walk goes through a dried-up river bed. Once you get to the end, there is a big pile of rocks on a mountain where all the rock wallabies go. They looked really good and they just jumped around on all the rocks. The next canyon we went to was Standly Chasm which is a big chasm in the rock. It only has sunlight in it for 90 minutes each day and when the sun goes in the middle, it shines brilliantly. Luckily, we were there at the perfect time and got to see it. The next place we went to was Ellery Creek Big Hole, which is a big water hole in the middle of a canyon. You can even swim in there, but I didn’t bring my bathers. The next place we went to was Serpentine Gorge. It was a 1 km. walk to Serpentine Gorge and the water pool looked really good! After we finished with all the gorges and canyons, we came back to the van and had dinner before going to bed.
