Day 20 Tennant Creek – Daly Waters
Today we started by driving from Tennants Creek to Daly Waters. We spent about 5 hours driving there. Once we got there, we unfortunately didn’t get a powered site so we couldn’t really do much in the van. On top of that, it got to 30 degrees outside and the van was 36 degrees so we didn’t spend much time in the van. Instead, I played a few Chess games with Dad and read my book outside until it was dinner time. Another cool thing about the caravan park, is that it had a bunch of animals just roaming around freely. There was about 4 cows, a horse, 2 donkeys (one donkey was in a pen), and even a saltwater crocodile! After that, we went to dinner at the famous Daly Waters Pub which was actually really fun. It took us ages to find a seat, though as it was filled to the brim. When we finally did get a seat, it took us about an hour to get our food because of the huge waiting line of people. It wasn’t that bad, though, as there was people playing music and telling stories. I had some calamari for dinner, and even though we are in the middle of the desert and a long way away from any squids, it tasted pretty good. After that, I just read some of my book in bed and went to sleep.
