Day 29 Kakadu

We started with a small walk to Maguk Falls. At the start, some parts of the path were flooded so we had to walk along a log in the middle of it and then take a detour around in a makeshift path built in the grass. After we got out of there, we had to walk on a very rocky riverbank and then cross the creek using steppingstones in the middle. The other side of the creek was pretty similar, and we just had to step on some precipices coming out of the wall to step over a small water hole. When we got there, we saw lots of people swimming in the pool below the waterfall and we didn’t realise we could swim because of all the crocodile signs up so we didn’t bring our bathers. While going back, we took a wrong turn, but that worked out as we found a medium sized goanna walking through the underbrush. We got some pretty good photos and videos of it! Near the end of the walk, we saw some cockatoos with really large crests. After we got back, we swam in the pool for about an hour. When we were having dinner, I needed a drink, so I went into our van to get my drink bottle and while I was walking around our van, a piece of glass went into my foot from a smashed glass about a week and a half earlier. It didn’t really bother me that much, so I came back and finished dinner and then we used a pair of tweezers to get it out. After that I just sat in bed until I went to sleep.
