Day 3 Hahndorf – Port Augusta
Today was day 3 and we started off by driving 2 and a half hours to another pink lake which was much bigger and a lot pinker than the pink lake we saw on day one. In the middle of the lake, there was a statue of the Loch Ness Monster that was called Lochiel. After we spent about an hour there eating lunch and exploring the lake, we drove for another 2 and a half hours to Port Germein where we saw the kilometre long pier that was built so ships could get in when the tide was out. I think the tide was about 50 meters away from the shoreline and it probably could have gone further out. Then we drove to Port Augusta where we dropped off the van at the caravan park and drove around town to see what was there. We stopped at an abandoned water tower that is now a lookout tower and I had to go up there which was really bad because it was super tall. After we got down, we drove to the Arid Gardens where we went to a cliff that overlooked a river and it was really good! Then we went home and had dinner in Nana and Pa’s van and then we came back to our van to go to bed.
