Day 32 Darwin
We started the day much later than usual by driving into Darwin at about 11 o’clock. We drove into the Darwin Botanic Gardens which had lots of tropical plants. The gardens started with a small 10-minute walk that goes around lots of cycad trees which are critically endangered. In the other part of the gardens, we went to the jungle area which had a big water hole that had a blue dragon sculpture in the middle of it. Further into the jungle section, there was a path that went through some massive palm trees. Some of the palm fronds was more than 4 times my height! At the end of the path, there was a bridge over a big pool of water with a waterfall on the other side. Near the end of the jungle section, there was a giant crocodile statue with a big fish in its mouth. After we went to the gardens, we came back to the van for a while, and we swam in the pool. At the end of the day, there was a big market that we went to. There was so many people and stalls, but surprisingly, most of the stalls were food stalls. We got dinner and ate it on the beach, looking at the sunset. After we came back to the van, we ate some mangoes we got from the market and then went to bed.
