Day 56 Tom Price – Coral Bay

Today was a really long drive. We left at 7:30 because it was a 7-hour trip to Coral Bay. It was pretty boring to drive up and the terrain was the same all the way. We stopped at a roadhouse for lunch and then kept going. When we got to Coral Bay, we set up the van and walked to the beach. We climbed up a sand dune which was a lookout, and you could see all the coral patches in the water. I got a pretty good photo of it, and you can see all the dark parts in the water is coral. We then waded through the water at knee depth and some gigantic fish came right up to our feet. The fish were probably close to 60 cm long and they came right into the shallow water. Usually, you need to go into a boat and go out really far to get fish this big. We walked near a big coral patch, and I am really excited to go snorkelling tomorrow. After that, we came back to the van and had dinner. I am really excited to go on the glass bottom snorkelling boat tomorrow and we will be able to swim in the reef a bunch.

A smaller fish that came to our feet

The massive fish (It is smaller in the photo because there is nothing to reference it with)
