Day 63 Kalbarri
Today was Father’s Day so we went into town so we could have lunch at a cafe. While we waited, we explored Kalbarri. We went up to the beach and walked along it. The waves were massive, and some were 3 times my height. There were also lots of oyster shells washed up on the beach. The waves were so loud and there were also some blue bottle jellyfish on the beach. After we went to the beach, we looked at the inlet that goes into the town from a lookout and it was much calmer compared to the rough waves of the beach. We then had lunch at the cafe and came back to the van. We then went to a lot of lookouts that went over the ocean. The lookouts were on sandstone cliffs, and they looked a lot like the Twelve Apostles from Victoria. While we were looking into the ocean, we saw a humpback whale swimming in the ocean. In the next lookout, we saw another whale that went far into the distance. In the third lookout we went to, we saw lots of dolphins swimming near the shore. They were catching the waves and jumping out of the water and there was a lot of them! The last lookout we went to had 3 humpback whales swimming really close to the shore. They were jumping out of the water, and one was upside down with its fins poking out of the water. It made a big splash when it jumped out of the water, and you could see it in really good detail when it was in the air. After the lookouts, we came back to the van and had goldband snapper and red emperor for dinner. It was really good as snapper and red emperor are my favourite fish to eat. After dinner, we went to bed.
