Day 68 Perth
We woke up in the morning and we went to visit some of Mums friends who lived in Perth. We went to a really cool cafe that was on a wooden platform over the water. We then drove into Perth to look around. The first place we went to was Kings Park. It had a lookout that went over the whole city which looked really cool. There was also a walk there that went over a glass bridge. I thought it would be a fully glass bridge but when we got there, I saw it only had glass sides and the bottom were big metal plates. It was an arch bridge though, so it was pretty cool to go up high. We walked around Kings Park for a bit and then we got in the car and drove into the city. There was a big belltower where you could see all the mechanical work in it and all the cogs spinning. It was pretty tall and made of glass, so it looked pretty nice. There was also a bridge that we went over which goes above the ocean. It had some white beam things that did a wave pattern around the bridge, and it was impressive. There was also a part in the city where you go through a castle gate and inside there is a bunch of really old looking buildings designed with 1500’s architecture. It was a really big contrast to the modern city and when you look at it from the outside, it is next to these super tall glass skyscrapers. They did a really good job of concealing the buildings next to it and you couldn’t see any of the city inside the area. When we left that area, we were walking to the Supreme Court when a McLaren 650s drove right next to me. It was super cool to see really up close as the McLaren P1 is my favourite car and McLaren is my favourite brand. When it drove off it sounded really good. We then went to the Supreme Court which had these gardens next to it with a lot of flowers. You couldn’t see much of the Supreme Court, and it wasn’t very impressive. We then got in the car and came back to the van. We stayed there until dinner and after dinner, we went over to the pool. It had 3 pools, one was cold, one was warm, and one was a really big spa. We went into the spa and after sitting there a bit, I did a few laps of the warm pool. I then jumped into the cold pool because it was the deepest and I got so cold in it. It was only 15 degrees outside at the time and the water had to be only about 12 degrees. I jumped in a few times and then swam back to the spa. The cold pool was definitely the biggest and it was really hard to swim that far in the freezing water. In the spa after that was really nice because I was freezing. The pool was also why I couldn’t do today and tomorrow on time because we had to go in there before it closed. After the pool, we went to bed.
