Day 73 Margaret River – Albany
Today was very rainy in the morning and we had to pack up in the van in the pouring rain and by the time we got in the car, I was drenched. We went through a giant forest which had really tall trees and lots of ferns on the undergrowth. It was absolutely bucketing the whole time though and everything was covered in water. The forest looked really nice when we were driving through it, and we stopped in Pemberton for lunch. After we had lunch, we drove around Pemberton for a bit. Pemberton is an old town that primarily is a logging town. They take down some of the trees in the huge forest next to the town and they used some old trains to carry them out. We saw some of the trains that were used to take the logs out and they looked really old! There were also lots of old log houses which were probably the original houses from when the town was made. We then kept driving through the forest and we went through this really massive pool in the road. When we drove through, water sprayed up over the roof of the car and it was pretty cool. We finally arrived in Albany and luckily, we had outrun the rain. The problem was, was that the rain would come into Albany in a few hours. We set up the van and then stayed there and had dinner and went to bed. Tomorrow we will be exploring Albany and going to a big blowhole which will be nice.
