Day 77 Albany – Wave Rock

We got up in the morning and packed up the van to go to Wave Rock. It was a 4-hour drive and there were some really massive mountains on the way. At least it wasn’t rainy this time though. We got to Wave Rock at about 12 o’clock. We set up the van after that and had lunch. Wave rock was like a 2-minute walk from the van, so we went over to the rock. We climbed up Wave Rock using some stairs and we got super high up there. You could see so far and there were a lot of pink lakes around. We walked around the rock and there were some little hollows in it full of trees and plant life. We also saw a puddle with 2 tadpoles swimming around in them. There were heaps of big rocks on it and they were super round. I have no idea where they came from because they were on top of the rock with nowhere for them to fall down from. We walked to the edge, and you could just manage to see the wave part of the rock. We walked back off the rock and came back to the wave part. It had lots of lichen growing on it which made it have black streaks that looked really nice. I got a photo of it that looks exactly like all the photos you see on the internet. After we looked at the rock, I came back to the van and finished setting up inside. I stayed in the van for a while until it got to dinner time. There were heaps of massive flies here and they kept flying it so it was really annoying to try and get them out. We had dinner and then stayed in the van until we went to bed.
